The Masked Singer has only been around on UK TV screens since 2020, but has cemented its place on prime time ITV1 weekend TV in the first months of the year.
With celebrity panellists Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Ken Jeong in the debut series guessing who’s behind the mask, Jeong was replaced by Mo Gilligan when travel restrictions limited Ken’s ability to film the show.
The change become permanent for subsequent series, with series five getting underway for broadcast on ITV until the spring of 2024.
This year’s characters include Air Fryer, Dippy Egg, Eiffel Tower and Weather. Week by week they’ll be unmasked, until the series champion is eventually the last to ‘Take It Off’ in the spring.
The series has a viewers competition to enter – there’s more on that below.
Follow us for the latest:
Joel Dommett is back to orchestrate proceedings in his own cheeky chappy style, freshly back from the desert island series of Survivor.
He’ll be highlighting the clues around each character to help the panel’s judges team to guess who’s behind the mask, and help viewers to play along too. Of course, the clues will be everywhere, leaving us to wonder how we missed them as the faces get revealed throughout season 5.
The core panel remains the same this year, with Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan appearing on each episode, and Rita Ora returning too, with three guest judges standing in for her for an episode each. Those guests are Olly Murs, Jennifer Saunders and last year’s winner, Charlie Simpson.
The Masked Singer Competition Prizes
