How Do ITV Win Text Entries Work?

Text entries are a simple way to pay to enter the prize draws on ITV. Most often, they’ll cost you £2 plus your standard message rate, but this can vary. We provide the cost for a given show’s prize draw on the page in the ITV section.

To enter by text, you’ll simply need to know the number to send it to, and the message to send. Both of these are available, along with the cost on the competition pages from the link above.

When you enter by simply sending a word (e.g. WIN, PRIZE or WINNER) to the provided shortcode, you’ll get a single entry into the draw and subscribe to alerts from ITV about future competitions.

If you’d like to opt out of these marketing messages, you can add NO INFO to the end of your message. For example, if the message to send is WINNER, you can send WINNER NO INFO to avoid receiving ads by text for future comps.

Sometimes, there are bonus free entries available if you enter more than once from the same mobile phone number. For example, 3 for the price of 2 promotions would mean if you enter twice from the same phone number, you’ll automatically get a third entry into the prize draw for free.

It’s an important detail that you have to use the same phone number each time, otherwise ITV wont be able to link up you entries to award the free bonuses.

There are also other competitions that have used an alternative method to offer extra free entries. Common examples include some of ITV Sport’s prize draws and Love Island to offer something like 5 entries for £5 instead of £2 per individual entry.

The way this works is usually by texting a different word to the shortcode number, so you might get charged £5 for five entries by texting the word FIVE, or £2 for a single entry by texting the word WINNER. You can still add NO INFO to the end of either message to decline marketing.

Premium shortcodes tend not to be included in your inclusive allowance from your network, so don’t be surprised to see them as added extras on your next bill.
