Tell Asda

Market research allows companies to adapt to customer needs, and Asda have a number of ways to monitor the behaviour of people using their shops, website and delivery services. One of those ways is through the Tell Asda survey, usually advertised on receipts from the checkout or sent via email to home delivery and click and collect customers.

Tell Asda gives you the chance to win up to £1000 when you complete a survey about your shopping experience in store, or how you found ordering online for click and collect or home delivery.

How Many Times Can I Enter?

Asda customers can complete the survey as often as they wish, but a household will only get one entry into the prize draw in the months that they complete the survey.

In other words, if you complete the survey at least once each month, your household will get an entry into each months draw, but multiple surveys in the same month will not result in additional entries.

When Are Winners Selected?

Asda choose a winner within the first five working days of each month from the previous month’s entries. That means a winner is generally chosen within the first week of each month, unless bank holidays fall in that period when it may be a day or two later.

For example, January’s winner should be chosen within the first week of February.

How Do Winners Get Paid?

The prize winner will receive their £1,000 prize via PayPal once the administration tasks for the competition have been completed as described in the Terms and Conditions of the competition (available at the bottom of this page).

When Are Tell Asda Winners Paid?

Asda will contact the competition winner within two weeks (10 working days) of the draw, and the winner will have two weeks to respond with the information requested to claim their prize. After this time, the prize will be reallocated to a new winner.

After a winner successfully claims their prize, they should receive their PayPal transfer in four to six weeks.

To follow the earlier example, the longest timeline if the first winner successfully claims their prize should be:

EventLatest Date
Entries open1st January to 31st January
Winner ChosenBy 7th February
Winner ContactedBy 21st February
Successful winner claimBy 14th March
Payment received11th -25th April

The dates above assume each stage takes the maximum amount of time, except for the winner successfully claiming their prize. If the winner does not claim their prize for any reason, the process would be delayed while another winning entry is chosen

How Do I Complete The Survey?

Check your Asda receipt (from the tills or email from an online order) for details of any additional promotions or details that might relate to the current survey, but in general you can complete the survey on the internet.

It can be done on a computer, tablet (eg iPad) or mobile phone – just go to the TellAsda website at TellAsda.com.

How Long Does It Take To Complete The TellAsda Survey Online?

If you’re able to focus on the survey, it should take you around five minutes. Last time I completed it I got a few interruptions from the kids and it took a little longer – probably about ten minutes from start to finish.

What Sort Of Questions Will I Be Asked?

Survey questions relate to your experience shopping with the store, whether that’s online or in person. For that reason, your answer to earlier questions shape the later one’s you’re asked.

For example, if you shopped in store, you might be asked about the cleanliness or the store or the attitude of the staff you interacted with. On the other hand, if you shopped online, it’s more likely that questions about how easy the website was to navigate or the selection of online payment choices will come up.

Regardless of where you order, the product quality and availability type questions will apply.

Will Asda Contact Me About My Feedback?

Having completed the survey many times over recent years, I’ve never been contacted about my answers, so it would appear that the answers are used internally only.

Having said that, there is an ‘other comments’ type box that comes up towards the end where you could ask about specifics. Whether a human will get back to you in response to what you type I don’t know.

If you specifically want to contact a member of Asda’s team, it’s better to visit the customer service desk in store, or use their online customer service section on their website. you can find that here.

If you’d prefer to phone them, the number is 0800 952 0101, and you’ll get options for online orders, George (clothing and homewares), in store orders and Asda Money (finance products).
