This Morning’s Spin To Win is a free to enter competition that’s run most weekdays through school term time on ITV1.

It can appear at any time on the mid morning daytime show between 10am and 12.30pm.

To play, you need to enter before 9.30am on the day of the competition. All you have to do is complete the form, make a note of the pass phrase and hope your phone rings when the game is played and answer with the day’s password.

Most of the time, the winner can get their hands on a prize of up to £1,000 cash.

Spin To Win Max £1,000

When the game is played on live TV, the presenters will call a number of viewers that have entered the competition until one answers the phone with the correct passphrase.

If you enter, it’s important to answer the phone only with the day’s passphrase, as saying anything else will mean that they move on to the next name on the list. This process tends to be repeated up to five times.

If none of the phone calls results in someone saying the password, a rollover is declared and the wheel is spun by one of the presenters, and the amount it stops on is added to the prize for the next game. On occasion that can be several weeks later (for example, if it’s the last game before the school holidays).

When a player answers the phone successfully, there’s usually a brief chat, followed by the wheel being spun to determine their prize. Presenters will often ask the winner how hard they’d like the wheel to be spun, but as a random game it’s unlikely to help them win a bigger prize!

Typically, the prizes on the wheel will range up to £3,000, however when someone wins the top prize it can disappear from the wheel for a few days – usually until the end of the week before reappearing. Presumably, this is to help ITV manage their prize budget!

How To Enter Spin To Win On This Morning

On the show, the presenters encourage viewers to enter via the This Morning App, but did you know you can also enter via the ITV Win website too?

Generally, we shouldn’t be loading our phones up with hundreds of apps unnecessarily, so if you’re just getting it to enter competitions, you can find all of ITV’s competitions on the ITV portal too, rendering it unnecessary to use the app.

Reducing your reliance on third party phone apps also makes it far less likely that you’ll get into the habit of downloading an app for everything. The more apps you have, the greater the chance of your phone use being monitored by less reputable companies!

Just head over to the ITV Win site to enter via the Free tab, or just click here.

If the Spin To Win entry form doesn’t appear, make sure it’s after the opening time for the next game, usually 9:50am on weekdays.

How Much Is It To Enter Spin To Win?

What Time Is Spin To Win On?

The time the game is played has varied a lot more recently than it used to. Until early 2023, it regularly appeared at around 12:15pm, but now it seems to be any time between about 10.30am and 12:15pm.

It can be played at any time while the show is on air though, so Monday to Friday somewhere between 10am and 12:30 pm.

How To Play Spin To Win

When you see the wheel descend on the show, it’s time for the day’s game! Often there will be a few minutes warning to grab your phone, but don’t rely on it because it doesn’t happen every day.

If you’re chosen and answer the phone with the pass phrase above, the game is very simple. The presenters will spin the wheel for you, possibly giving you the chance of a hard or soft spin. Wherever the wheel stops, as indicated by the arrowhead on the right hand side of the wheel, reveals the prize for the winner.

After the prize is selected, there’s usually a chance to win the ‘Bag Of Shizzle’, which is a collection of This Morning branded merchandise – mostly stuff you can buy in the This Morning shop (you can buy the stuff here).

The normal rule is that the viewer has to answer a question about something discussed earlier in the show, but generally even if the winner hasn’t been watching they’ll be told what the answer is and win the merch. In fact, the show is often tight for time so they don’t even bother with the question and just award the extra prizes!

How Much Are The Prizes On The Wheel?

The prizes included when they spin the wheel vary from time to time, with the amounts being something along the lines of:

  • 1 x £3,000
  • 1 x £2,000
  • 6 x £1,000
  • 2 x £800
  • 2 x £750

From January 2024, Josie Gibson said on air that the minimum prize was now £1,000, with the wheel containing the following amounts:

  • 1 x £3,000
  • 1 x £2,000
  • 10 x £1,000

Time will tell whether this happens again, but after a couple of weeks the amounts reverted back to normal.

They also seem to be keeping the passphrase the same each day too, just like ‘Jingle All The Way’ was used throughout December. Perhaps it’s an attempt to reduce the frequency that they run out of callers before a winner is found, or maybe they’re finding it too much effort to change it each day. Either way, it means a bit of the hilarity of Spin To Win has been lost!

As we said earlier, when a big prize is won it can be removed from the wheel for a few days. For example, if a viewer wins £3,000 on Monday, it may be swapped for a lower prize for the rest of the week before reappearing again.

In addition, prizes can appear from time to time on the wheel instead of cash amounts. Common examples might be themed towards other ITV shows, such as a place on the Saturday Night Takeaway plane to Florida.

A famous alternative prize was the ill fated Energy Bills prize, which attracted huge criticism on social media and in the tabloid press for being in poor taste when the energy crises caused household bills to surge in 2022. Needless to say, it didn’t last long and hasn’t appeared again in the same format since!

Why Isn’t Spin To Win On?

From time to time, Spin To Win disappears for a few weeks. Typically it’s given a rest through the school holidays, so the longest gap tend to be over the summer between early July and early September when it’s usually missing for about eight weeks.

There are also times when it’s considered inappropriate to show more light hearted parts of the usual line up like competitions. A good example in recent times was the national period of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, when ITVs competition segments were removed for a number of weeks.

Generally however, Spin to Win runs on This Morning through school term times all year round.
